On the front lawn of a historic 1880s mansion-turned-co-living home, LMNTL designed and built a community garden that brought people and nature together in powerful ways. Applying permaculture principles, we created a space that was not only productive but also regenerative and resilient.
The garden’s layout featured a striking radial design, with planting rows fanning out in circular patterns. This geometry maximized growing space, improved access for gardeners, and gave the garden a unique visual identity that quickly became a neighborhood landmark.

Throughout the season, the garden produced a remarkable volume of organic food, nourishing both the home’s residents and surrounding neighbors. Herbs and spices were cultivated for specialty teas, while a mix of wildflowers supported pollinator species and added seasonal beauty.
Beyond its harvest, the garden grew into a social and cultural hub. Residents and neighbors gathered among the beds to share food, knowledge, and community spirit, turning a once-ordinary lawn into a vibrant, living commons.
